Description
A massive figure stands before you, the height of a house or
elder tree. His flesh is weathered and salted with time, with
pocks speckling his flesh, and holding a washed out, sandy
looking obsidian color. What is most striking is that this fire
giant has an almost undead mummy look. His flesh is banded
and slightly chapped. His eyes are sunken within his skull
and difficult to see. Fingernails are long, almost weapon
like, with hair that looks to have been scraped away by years
of blowing sand. His wild undead look is unnatural to behold
and only his massive, rippling muscles underneath the bandage
like skin give away that he is indeed, a living being. As you
look closer you realize his belongings and can pick out specific
items of interest.
Role
Culture of the Ash Clan
Added Tue Jun 6 14:57:32 2017 at level 26:
Fire giants are known for their abilities with strength, but one
desert tribe, born out of the depths of the Ashes of Nowhere
pride themselves on their ability to deal with hardship and pain.
They spend most of their life unsheltered from the heat of the
desert, using that pain and hardship to remind themselves what
happened there in the Ashes of Nowhere. The lands sundered to
a crisp under the touch of the enemy, and left only a place of
desert and endless sand and drought. These fire giants see this
place as created for them. A place Thar Eris gives to harden
only the most tough warriors of the Ash Clan.
Those of this culture do not inhabit volcanoes, but instead inhabit
in a nomad nature, the ash fields and aftermathes of a volcanic
or massive fires. They live in the parched and most barren of
environments, and learn to thrive. They are base savages, and
while it may seem that fire giants living in a barren ash wasteland
would be easy to identify, such is not the case. They thrive
within the desert and hide in plain sight. They find resources
where many simply die, not knowing salvation is simply underneath
the ash, or behind a barren rock.
So now you know, how Voorium grew up, why he is what he is, a
Bedoiun savage fire giant.
Ash Clan Raiding
Added Tue Jun 6 14:57:58 2017 at level 26:
The Ash Clan doesn't spend all its time combing the desert for dates
and little springs of water or cacti flesh, they also have learned
raid the civilized lands about them for what they need, in the
most brutal of fashion. Modelled after Storms, specifically Dust
Storms, these fire giants prepare themselves to the upmost then
burst into the cities and villages of the land like the dust storm
itself. They scour flesh, destroy buildings, strike fear, taking
and looting what they wish, but only for a short time. Before the
enemy can mount their defense, or gather up enough to counter their
assault. They wash through the street like blowing dust and sand,
leaving only sand and blood stains in their wake. Even the flesh of
their enemies is taken, for it too is nourishing and part of the
cycle. Those left stand in shock as their world is sundered by
this storm, and as quickly as it came, it has left.
That is the Ash Clan's way. They are warriors of the wilds, in a
way no other rangers are. They do not shy away from battle within
the wilds. They strike prepared, then fade away.
Macalla of the Wilds
Added Tue Jun 6 14:58:11 2017 at level 26:
The Ash Clan also seeks respect among the warrior monks of old.
So long do they just teach those of a certain guild, but the
warrior-rangers of the Ash Clan seek to change that. To show
their prowess is just as good or better than any warrior of note
and that their teachings, of some kind, should be opened to those
of the desert ways. They seek to change their minds, and lure
the monks of Macalla out to teach them. They know of their secretive
ways and will do anything to find them and impress them enough.
This is the goal of Voorium too. To show no place is safe and
that warrior-rangers of the Ash Clan deserve their place upon the
top of all warriors of Thera. And it will be proven, over and
over, with blood.
The Ash Clan and Thar-Eris
Added Tue Jun 6 14:58:25 2017 at level 26:
This is simply a foregone conclusion. Those of the Ash Clan already
serve Thar-Eris in every way. They live in a place blessed to them
through Thar-Eris through her own destruction. It is not a question
of why, it simply is. They are the warrior-rangers of the wilds
and bring their wrath in her name to civilized peoples everywhere.
