Description

A skinny felar swaggers here before you, peering about his surroundings through dark brown cat-like eyes. His fur is primarily of alight tan color, and is quite short across his entire body, except for a small tuft which covers the circumference of his neck. Stripes of some dark maroon substance have been painted on the fur of his face in symmetrical lines outward from each side of his shortened snout toward the sides of his head, giving his otherwise plainly furred visage a two-toned striped appearance. Many tiny bone piercings have been primitively stuck through each ear, each dyed in various colors of green, brown and red with no discernable pattern- there appear to be some missing which are replaced instead with bloodened crusty tears, having been ripped out forcefully.

It has been many many years for Vreksoek since the day color disappeared...

Maybes a bit more blood on the earth will bring her back. Vreksoek is happy
in seeing red blood on the ground. He does not see Gold though. Guldy-fur.
Gold. Ironic, this hue of the slaver roadbuilders currency is his most missed
color. Not the shine of coin, however, but the fur of his slain guldy-furred
mate. He still seeks her smell, her soft fur, and.. the golden sheen.

If the Ancients can be brought back and Earth becomes pure again, then maybe
they can bring back gold for Vreksoek. Then maybe if they bring back gold
they can bring back Guldy-fur herself....

But Vreksoek is afraid of the Ancients. Of not feeding them enough. Of
stepping too lightly across roads and fields. He knows the Ancients are angry
and knows that he is not exempt from the falling rock and burning flames when
the Angry Earth is aggravated.

And Vreksoek does revel in the red he is able to see, wholly due to the favor
of the Ancients...

Crimson Cobblestones

The lifeless body of the Giant Lawman lies in an enormous heap next to his
recently trusted swords and guards, colorless to Vreksoek except for a few
keenly placed purple bruises around the arms and neck. The felar stares in
wonder, as the trio of lawmen's red lifeblood flows in unbridled ecstasy,
staining the cobblestone street in just as many perfect tiny rivers of
crimson- ending up as one in the gutter, mixing in with the otherwise
colorless refuse of the city day's bustle and waste...

(from around the corner of a nearby building ... "Criminal! Men, grab that
murderer!"...)

...Vreksoek continues to stare in wonder at the scene in front of him, unwary
of the nearing guards and the shrieks of passersby. With little hesitance, he
pulls a matted buckskin dress from within his few belongings, and wipes a bit
of the newly taken blood off of his right claw onto it. To his surprise, the
color remains, perhaps a even bit brighter and redder than before. The felar
pauses.

(Moments pass. Sweet yet somehow painful moments.)

A slightly familiar smell finds it's way to the nostrils of the felar, sweet
and beckoning. For a brief moment, everything goes black. Then. All at once,
Vreksoek spins around to take view of the wide road behind him, dark and
empty except for a bit of light (green?) making its way out from beyond the
exit of the city gates... Tightly clutching the buckskin in his right paw,
Vreksoek dashes and leaps back into the comfort of the fields beyond the
walls... barely wincing as a bit of golden light (ever so slight) reflects
off his pupils and he takes in the smell of familiar wheat and grass and
leaves...

Burgundy Fields.

From a newly shaded precipice above the valley, a skinny felar stares into
the rising sun, taking in the newborn day's golden rays through half
squinted, eager brown eyes.

The fela in the meadow below him, golden fur gleaming just slightly more
brightly than the fresh sun's rays which begin to give the day's world
warmth, remains transfixed within the clearing by the same golden hue which
captivates the young felar concealed above him. "Ah, my dear companion, she
hunts and plays with all the fervor of life itself. I will seek her this eve
and I shall make certain to never have to view her from such a distance
again! Yes, as the elders have decreed, so young blood shall unite..."

... With a slight twitch of his ears, the felar picks up a sound just barely
eclipsing the beating of his own accelerated heart ... *thump* ... *Thump*
... *THUMP* ... a grey cloud briefly covers the sun barely before it peeked
into the day, as the young felar on the precipice turns his head downward
toward the sound, now growing painfully louder-- cutting through the crisp
air like so many blades through newly grown wheat.

A swarthy duergar in heavy shining armors steps into the clearing, halting
the convoy behind him.

"Clear thar kitten outta that thar field, men! This road won't have nun'a
these vermin stoppin' the Empress's roadways! Raze thar field an' start
first with that guldy furr-ed whelp!"

Faster then the winds themselves, two daggers followed by a pitch black drow
dark as death lunges into the clearing, ripping untouched golden fur into a
spray of blood, indistinguishable limbs separated lifelessly now on a crimson
patch of once golden field.

...

And so a young heart turns black. Never to see the world in such vibrant
colors again. Not since has the sun risen as bright as the beginning of that
day for Vreksoek. Though he yearns for nothing more then what almost was...
