Description
Long brown hair hangs in waves down the head of this half-elf. Peeking from
the top of his head are the points of his ears.A thin nose juts out from
his angular face right below his thin brown brows and bright green eyes.
His stance is loose, yet his back is straight. His arms hang by his side,
and one of his thin hands seem to hover near a dagger carried on his waist.
You look closer and see that

We had moved from our village to Darsylon where Father had family. They
supported us during our grief and eventually we decided to settle there.
Mother lives there still, surrounded by compassionate friends.
Fathers younger brother detected my abilities first. He would gaze at me
and grin, but never tell me why. Eventually, he began to appear on our
doorstep in the early evening and we would speak of the world, and most of
all, of magic.
After time and study, I learned the rudiments of shapeshifting. My uncle sat
me down a few years after we began to have these talks and gave me the
following advice.
You are young Vrelin. You have much to learn and many experiences to
gain. The family has noticed that you have become restless much like your
father did. You should leave from us before it becomes too difficult. Go
out and become the man your father wished you too be.
I soon packed my bags and began to focus my learning in the City of Light,
Voralian. I obtained membership in their Shapeshifters Guild, where I
have gained much insight. No matter what I have done or what I will do, it
is never far from my mind, Fathers early words, that I was to be strong in
soul, be compassionate, and above all, protect others.
Mother's visit.

Mother made a trip to Voralian City last week. We caught up on each
others happenings. She was curious as to how I had been doing. I
explained that I was advancing steadily in my guild and I asked her to thank
my uncle for his help in finding that path.
I began to tell her of how I was a scribe within the Fortress, but it took
some time as she immediately burst into tears of joy. I told her of how I
traveled and grew as a person, how I took to heart her and Fathers
teachings and of how I realized how right they were. My faith and hope in
the Light grew with each passing day.
I spoke of my interviews with the Captain, Amada, and the Cardinal. I told
her that several difficult questions were asked, but that I stuck to what
Father and herself had taught me and I was deemed worthy.
I told her that each passing day seems to be making me a better person and
that I was enjoying this life away from home and felt like I was making a
true difference within the Fortress and the world.
Eventually she had to travel back home.I displayed for her my fine new
forms and sent her off with gifts for everyone back home.
Beliefs

I would bounce on his knee in the evenings and most often, he would speak of
how to be a man. Not a human, but a man. Father was actually an elf and I
loved him so very much.He would tell me to be strong in soul, be
compassionate, and above all, protect others. Being stronger, faster, or
smarter is an honor granted by the gods for the purpose of helping the less
fortunate.
Lesson learned.

My father died. With his last actions, he drove home all the lessons he
taught me. Orc ravagers raided our quaint village. Father fought, blocking
our doorway, so that my human mother and I could escape out the back.
Father used his god-granted abilities to protect us so that we might live.
Mother spoke of it once a few years later. She spoke of his strength of
character, his love and compassion, and most of all how he stood firm and
protected us. As we held each other and wept, I vowed to honor my
fathers sacrifice and memory by dedicating myself to his ideals.
