Description

Far more cat than human, this creature gives a feral snarl and constantly sniffs the air, testing its surroundings. Clad in rags and various animal furs over its red and orange striped coat, this felar seems barely evolved beyond its animal roots. It constantly flexes its claws, as if expecting to use them at any moment. Lean and wiry, it gives the appearance of a hunter, one who is willing to go to any length to track and destroy.

-     Vyborny has all the traits of a noble warrior. He is
compassionate, graceful, courageous and honorable. He was
raised as an only Felar, with only his mother, Weianth, to
mentor him. It took Weianth a great deal of time to figure
out how to raise Vyborny, so that he'd have the instincts
of a male, as well as the lessons of benevolence that only
a mother can teach. So Vyborny was told stories about his
father, and what a warrior and gentleman he was.
-     The image of Natheron given to Vyborny by his mother
was the standard for him. The man became sort of a legend
to Vyborny, and being his father, was even more inspirational
to him. It was his motivation for waking up early and
staying up late training. Everything Vyborny did, and still
does, is with calculated reason. He is not the smartest
being, but he understands very well the meaning of hard
work and dedication.
-     This day in age, every respectable man has an idea
of the sort of man they want to be. But there are many
outside influences that impact each decision a man takes,
and some are not so positive. But to understand that and
to make the right decisions for the right reasons is to
have great integrity, a value Vyborny holds above all else.

-     It would not be long after reaching adulthood that
Vyborny would make the decision to venture out into the
land to find his own destiny, his own purpose. These are
never inviting words to a mother, even if she does want
to see her own son grow and become successful. It is
always a mothers instinct to protect her cubs. But she
knew that Vyborny was ready. She knew he would be just
fine in the vast world of Thera...

-     To learn more about Vyborny, one must look to his
past for the answers to who this young Felar is. So the
story begins with his mother, Weianth. Many years before
Vyborny was ever born, Weianth, a skilled mercenary, came
to meet a fellow rogue mercenary, by the name of Natheron.
The two spent much time together, and eventually grew very
fond of one another. But this love would go against all
that the Mercenary Code stood for, and they both knew it.
So they tried to keep their passion a secret from the
network.
-     Love is not an easy thing to conceal, and so rumors
quickly began to spread. It had been a long time since
anyone within the mercenary network had such feelings for
another, and while there was no written code forbidding
such actions, it was an unspoken rule. The two tried
convincing the other members that they understood what it
meant, but that they could not break apart from what their
hearts desired.
-     There are many reasons why two clan members should
not get intimately involved. Namely, the people felt it
would hinder their ability to do their jobs, or obstruct
their judgment. More compassionate members knew that it
would always end badly, as the life of a mercenary can
be cruel and dangerous. But there were a select few who
believed more in the tradition of the unspoken rule than
others, and they were quite vocal about their discontent
with the situation.


-                    *      *      *                  -

-     To some, the assassination of Natheron was no
surprise. But to many, it came as a brutal dose of reality.
Assassinations are always well calculated and executed,
so while there were several suspects involved in the
conspiracy, none were charged with any crimes amongst
the clan. But Weianth is no fool. On the contrary, she is
a highly skilled and highly intelligent Fela, who would
create her own path of destruction before retiring. One
by one, she dealt with the perpetrators until they were
all dispatched of.
-     Heartbroken, Weianth would retire from her mercenary
status and move back to her hometown of Blackclaw. There
she began training with Lariea and helping her to train
the young, upcoming Felar combatants. But it would not be
long after her arrival that she realized she was pregnant.
Even when she thought she had lost everything dear to her,
she never gave up hope, and she would be blessed with a
child... Vyborny.
