Description
You see a tall man in dark robes, both charming and repulsive at the same
time. His face is twisted to one side, the right corner of the mouth
drawn down, the high, bald forehead scored by deep wrinkles running
parallel to the sharp eyebrows. His right eye is with a golden spark at
its bottom, drilling anyone to the bottom of his soul, and the left one
empty and black, like the narrow eye of a needle, like the entrance to
the bottomless well of all darkness and shadow. The skin of Woland's face
as it was if burned for all eternity by the sun. When he speaks, his
authoritative voice is deep and filled with power.
Role
Woland Theodor de Velial, Born Avatar of Belial
Added Fri Apr 29 08:52:39 2016 at level 11:
Woland was born in Udgaard, in the family close to Loki himself. And he
was born not by an accident, but by the will of the devil known as
Belial. He was sent to Thera as the emissary of justice, to show mortals
that light cannot exist without darkness, and darkness can't exist
without the light. All realms based on duality - the realm of mortals and
gods, angels and devils. Those, who strive to completely destroy one of
the aspects are fools, and their strive is futile
But, when he was born, as it often happens, the memory of his previous
lives, his nature, and his goal were forgotten. Deep inside he knew that
he is not usual mortal and that the great destiny awaits him. This inner
knowledge and his affinity to the negative powers led him to the most
powerful guild, Necromancy. He was excited by that art, and he was
talented, gifted mage. It was not surprising: he always been that.
This dark spark of Belial was burning within his soul, and it pushing him
forward, toward something greater than just spending his life in Udgaard.
Even becoming a ruler of the Udgaard wouldn't be enough for him. His very
nature desired something greater, something global. And he decided to
take the Emperorship - when time comes.
Bloody coma
Added Thu May 5 08:26:48 2016 at level 11:
Woland was studying in the Necromancer's guild. He was one of the best,
most talented scholars when a tragedy happened. During one of his
experiments with undeads and thralling the dead corpses, he summoned
something too powerful for his mortal personification. The being was a
half vampire, half a wraith, and it attacked Woland as soon as it came,
buried its teeth into his face and began to suck his blood. Fortunately
for Woland, older necromancers arrived and banished the creature back it
its origins.
Barely alive, Woland was transported to the hospital, where he spent
years of his life in a coma. He was lying there, paralyzed by the
vampire's poison, and only because he wasn't a plain mortal, he
eventually managed to shake it off and awake. But since that time, he was
extremely repulsive, and his blood, spoiled by the venom, became liquid
like a water. Now, even a small scratch could be fatal for him.
Of course Woland knew that most experienced necromancers have ended their
days as undeads, but he never thought that it is his fate. But after
those events he realized that he, should he wish to remain alive, will
have to die... and rebirth.
Hunger
Added Tue May 24 04:51:41 2016 at level 29:
Woland quickly grew within his guild and became aa bloodoath to the
Empire, then he was promoted to the citizen. But it was not enough. He
was hungry, hungry for power and authority. He quickly realized that his
mortal body is too weak to satisfy him, and somehow he knew, he felt that
this limitation is only a temporary inconvenience. But also he knew that
patience wins many battles, and he was carefully studying his magic,
without any haste. His time will come, but he'll play this game on his
own terms. He'll sate his hunger, and the rivers of blood will flow, and
the mountains of bones will arise.
The Inner Power
Added Thu Jun 2 15:48:21 2016 at level 37:
The more Woland was growing, the stronger he was becoming. His devious
soul began awake, and he began to see visions of Hell itself. He couldn't
remember his previous life, nor realize what he is, so he believed that
was a side effect of his mastery in dark arts, a way to some kind of
unholy enlightenment. But together with it, his body began to give out,
unable to stand that power. His skin began to turn dark and withered like
it was burned and dried by the fire. He had feeling that he may explode
at any time, should he fail to control it. And he knew that the stronger
he'll become, the harder it will be to do... and that eventually he'll
fail. At this point, he began to search for a way to survive it, and this
led him to the conclusion that he'll have to move on, toward the undeath,
where he'll get rid of its weakness of mortality and become one with his
inner power.
Death Approaches
Added Sat Jun 4 02:38:03 2016 at level 38:
From bad, Woland's condition was quickly becoming horrible. Torn by the
power, his aging body was withering so fast that now it was covered with
thousands of wrinkles. Now, he looked like a living mummy. But not
everything was lost now, there was the only one way to evade death - to
die in a controlled way, the ritual of Becoming, the mummification alive.
He'll seek Conservator, and should he survive, the curse of late blooming
will not bother him anymore. Only one thing bothered and truly scared
him: Time. Merciless time, his only true enemy and executor, ready to
destroy him at any moment. Time, that will force him to begin the process
too early, while he isn't fully prepared and experienced in the world of
mortals? Perhaps, perhaps if he'll take the seat in Council of Empire and
draw additional power from the Codex, he'll have enough. But Deldrach
isn't hurried to give him that privilege, even after the explanation.
Deldrach, the weak Emperor, one who must be replaces before it's too
late. Perhaps Tiiga is doing the right thing by destroying him, and it is
actually good for the Empire? Perhaps his offer is not a farce and not a
trap, but he really cares for the Empire? Perhaps Tiiga is the true
imperial still, and Woland's promise to return him to the Council is not
a lie, as he thought before? At least Tiiga may, and likely will, clear
way to the Throne for Woland. But first, he must survive. But first, he
must survive. He must hurry, until it's too late. He cannot fail, he
shall not fail!
