Description

The human before you stands shorter than is average for his race and is slight of build as well. Dark hair hang in matted tangles well his neck and partially obscuring his face in the front. Pale skin is emphasized even more by the contrast with this dark hair and the black eyes peering out of it. Xasivus is clothed in a simple but tattered robe made from a coarse brown material. Xasivus seems to be devoid of many possessions others might covet, but he does carry a stout staff.

Role

Heading North

Xasivus was born in the town of Galadon to a pair who fancied themselves
healers of some skill.  However, most of their patients did not share 
this opinion, which lead to them leaving the town when Xasivus was still
very young.

Xasivus had vague memories of the places they lived as they made their
way north.  However, nowhere ever seemed to serve as home for very
long as cures his parents produced seemed inefective, or even worsened
the condition of those who sought their aid.  Xasivus could remember many
such exits followed by angry shouts, or some even pursued by armed 
townsmen.  Xasivus was too young to understand the why of it, only that
the people his parents were helping wanted to hurt them for some reason.

Perhaps as as final tribute to the couples ineptitude, they both finally
fell ill catching dieseases of people they sought to heal, and being
unable to even treat themselves.  Once deceased, the people of the village 
they were in left them were they lie, not even bothering to bury them. 
Some even openly mocked the corpses and the skills of the pair.

Xasivus was still young, but old enough to know he did not want to remain
where he was.  So he did what his family had always done when times turned
against them, and left the town and headed north.

The Pine Forest

As he traveled, the weather grew colder, and what he could forage from the
country more scarce, but he continued.  Xasivus did not know what he was
looking for, but knew he cared for nothing he had left behind.  He avoided
other travelers and places of habitation as much as he could left bitter
by the experiences of his childhood.

When he had stumbled into a place of great waste and desolation, he began to
beleive he might perish himself.  Though he felt his strength ebbing, he 
continued on determined to continue his travel.  On a day he though might be
his last, Xasivus stubled though a narrow trail through some rocks and found
himself in a Vibrant forest.  He gorged on what plants and bug he found, and
fell asleep.
When he awoke, the moon was high in the sky, and dark forms prowled around him.
he heard howls near and far, and was as frightened as he had every been.
He saw he was somewhat hidden, having sunk into the muck and leaves of the forest
floor so remained still, and aware.

Xasivus learned to survie, and even thrive in what he decided was his new home. 
dangers lurked, but he learn so avoid them, and the tended to keep other away, 
which suited him well.  He continued to watch, and grow, and hunt, and hide.

Beginning of an Outlook

As Xasivus grew older he learned more of the creatures where he lived, and begun
to emulate them more and more.  He saw how the weak were dealt with in this  
world but also how, their death served to strenthen everything else around     
them. He decided their methods of improving the world around them were       
surperior to the ones his parents had used.  Not everything survived, but    
Xasivus began to realize not everything was supposed to and that for some to  
survive, other must perish.

And Back South Again

After many years in the forest, Xasivus finally decided he would head back 
south.  The game was still plentiful where he was, but as much as he had
continued north based on the feeling that was what he should do, now he felt
it was time to find new hunting grounds.

As he left the wastes and continued south, he was surprised at how sickly the
realm seem to him.  Its cities and it people smelled of death and decay. Even
the open spaces seemed strained to him.  He eventually realized the realm
was sick.

The place he had left was alive and healthy.  Xasivus' parents had been healers,
and Xasivus decided he would heal as well, though he would use different
methods.  He remembered the bleedings and leachings his parents had once 
employed.  He decided a good bleeding to rid itself of the plagues which 
infested it was what the realm needed.  The wolves he had watched in the forest
were strong enough to cause plenty of bleeding as well.  Xasivus decided he
would continue to grow as a beast until he was strong enough to act as the leech
that the realm needed for the bleeding Thera needed to cure its ills.

Going Through Changes

Over many years, interactions with those outside the tree have helped to mend
the scars of Xasivus's youth and tempered his anger toward those who he does
not feel seek the same things he does.  Through general interactions, he even
felt himself drawn more closely to one whom in his youth, he would have only 
hunted.

Xasivus has focused himself more on those who he knows much be destroyed,
after much encouragement from his Goddess, tried to use gentler techniques
on those whom might be persuaded without violence.
However, what was once a brief period of joy in his life, Xasivus now finds
turning to pain.  What was an unlikely romance bloomed quickly, but, word of 
what Xasivus had always wanted to keep a private matter, seemed to quickly 
spread throughout the realm.  Although, there were few, if any repercusions
for Xasivus, there were many for the object of his affection.

Xasivus realized his love had a choice to make.He wanted to be what she
chose, but also recognized at his age, the time he would have to spend her
with would be little, and she would sacrifice all she had striven for to 
remain with him. Even though he might place value in the things she sought,
he knew they were important to her, so in a rare act of selflesness, tried 
to make the decision easier for her. He also recognized the idealic 
thoughts he had of spending out the rest of their days in a tree 
somewhere deep in the wilds, might not be the same end she had in mind.
So with heavy heart, Xasivus laid out his thoughts to his love, to make her
decision easier. Although he thought this would put things at an end, it
seems drama over the events only intensifies.

Last Days of Xasivus!

As he approaches his final day, Xasivus feels some level of comfort in finally
bringing a few new reavers into the tree that seem like they may continue to fight
once he and Balete are no more.  He sees the spire largely abandoned and an Empire
that is trying to re-emerge, but still is largely ineffectual.  Many of the Scions
still wield great power, and still the greatest threat to the lands, but the ruin 
promised by the their Chancellor has still not come to pass, and does not show
signs of emerging while Xasivus is still alive.


Xasivus also feels more content in his coming passing seeing all that have left his
his life already, both friends and foes, plus seeing the increasing gray in his hair
and feeling the aches of his bones lets him know that his season is coming to a 
close.

Xasivus feels his greatest pride in the recognition that he is a healer, and one who
accomplished more that his parents ever dreamed (they would likely have been 
horrified by what their son became, but Xasivus is unaware of this).  The only 
possesion he values other than the Lotus tattooed on him is the somewhat worn teddy 
bear given to him by a former lover he has managed to hold onto for many years since.


So Xasivus approaches the end of his life perhaps slightly more cautious than in his
youth, but with the same level of passion he has always had for purging the land of
the things which taint and damage her and with a sense of accomplishment he had never
expected when he left his woods so many years ago.  He hopes to leave many more
corpses emptying their lifegiving fluid into the ground before he passes, but knows
that his will soon be among them for good.
