Description
This old woman has clearly devoted her life to mastering
elemental magic. Small bits of ice and water swirl around
her in a gentle breeze. Lightning crackles on her metal
armor, small bolts occasionally jumping form one piece to
another. Orange and yellow flames dance on her gray hair
without ever burning it. Her skin looks like dark stone,
sharply contrasted by bright green ooze covering her lips.
Controlling the elements has not stopped her from aging.
She has developed a hunched posture. Though her skin
appears stone, the bone structure beneath is very thin and
lacking muscle. The biggest indicator of her age is a wide,
toothy grin and the voids where several teeth have gone
missing.
Role
A Calling to Anarchy
Added Fri Jul 12 19:41:17 2019 at level 16:
For as long as she can remember, Xiqoanna has had a problem
with authority. She was kicked out of school for constantly
insulting the teacher's intelligence. Soon after that, her
parents kicked her out for not following their rules. None
of this bothered her as she thought her teachers and parents
were all fools. It was not their place to tell her what to
think or how to behave.
The freedom of being on her own felt great. She had no desire
to ever go back. Deciding to pursue her lifelong interest in
magic, she joined the invokers guild. It didn't take long for
her to become completely self-sufficient.
She feels resentment towards her parents, her school, and the
whole system that was trying to control her. They wanted her
to live a menial life so Galadon's elite could continue to
prosper by exploiting the poor. The worst part of it was they
didn't even realize they were being exploited. It is her goal
to get people to open their eyes by disrupting the system,
forcing them to reexamine how things are done.
It is her belief that chaos is best achieved through careful
planning. She is not just interested in small disruptions, even
though it might be a good way to start. Her goal is to cause
society to crumble. Such a feat will not be achieved easily, or
alone. That is why she seeks to join Entropy and be a Baron of
Chaos.
Random Character Notes
Added Tue Oct 1 19:34:49 2019 at level 36:
-Generally a happy and friendly person, Xiqoanna gets along with most. Aside
from villagers, Imperials, Tribunals, and conjurers, she tries to give everyone
a chance. She enjoys exploring and meeting new people.
-She always tries to keep her composure and act polite. She believes toppling
society to be the proper thing to do, and it should be done with dignity.
-Xiqoanna prefers human flesh. The meat of other intelligent races is her second
choice.
-She tends to be honest and direct, but not strictly so.
-She sees coins as useful and potentially good. She wants to end the elite upper
class, not the working-class such as shopkeepers.
-She's not strictly against hiring mercenaries. To give a mercenary a paying job
and send them home alive is fine.
Scions, Outlanders, and Forties
Added Tue Dec 3 18:05:49 2019 at level 42:
Xiqoanna has been pleased by the return of the Scions.
Not only did it really weaken the Spire when the mummy
left, she also thinks this can help her with her goals.
The Scions and their nightwalkers will surely wreak
havoc on the current systems of order.
This has led Xiqoanna to be a little more manipulative
than she normally is. She is not trying to control
others' actions. She is trying to get them to see her
the way she wants to be seen. For example, she has
made the Fort see her as a potential ally by helping
them keep the Codex and she has made some Scions see
her as an ally by providing some information on magical
items. She is doing similar things with the Outlanders.
There are two reasons she wants to build alliances. The
first reason is to give anarchists a good name. By being
friendly and helpful, she causes the things Tribunals
say about Barons to lose credibility. The second reason
is the Scions. She wants them to bring anarachy, but not
to suceed in their goal.
If her plans go perfectly, the Scions will cause enough
chaos that everyone will forget about wealth, laws, and
class in order to band together to stop the destruction
of Thera. Then, they can rebuild a world where no group
holds power over others. If it goes well enough, the
villagers will even need to work with mages to stop the
Scions.
If her plans don't go well, she thinks she'll have a lot
of fun trying. But really, how could a plan to bring
the world to the brink of destruction ever go wrong?
Daphedee
Added Sun Dec 8 18:09:11 2019 at level 44:
Xiqoanna never had much interest in immortals or religion.
She feels no desire to praise or worship anyone. However,
she noticed an interesting immortal about one day that caught
her attention. The goddess Daphedee seems different to her
than the others. Xiqoanna likes the idea of embracing flaws.
She's not calling herself a follower of the goddess, but she's
decided to look more into Daphedee. Xiqoanna also realized
she hasn't spent much time thinking about her own flaws.
She'll work on self-reflection as she asks around about
Daphedee and tries to locate her shrine.
Some Recent Events
Added Sat Jan 18 21:26:55 2020 at level 51:
Xiqoanna has made many kinds of friends: an elf Tribunal,
an orc Warlord, a dwarf Paladin, Outlanders, Scions,
Pathfinders, and more. In this regard, things are going
according to plan. She's especially pleased about
befriending the Tribunal. Now she gets tips about those
in the shadows and she is sowing seeds of doubt in the
Spire.
Xiqoanna played a game of chance with Morius. Now she
gets sick from magical transportation.
Xiqoanna met Daphedee. Daphedee told her to embrace her
illness. After much struggling, she has started to do
so. Now she's sees her sickness as a reminder not to be
so rash. If she's actually going to bring down the Spire
or the Empire or the Village, she's going to have to be
much more careful. Being unable to walk straight and
vomiting after teleporting have forced to her to slow
down and plan better.
She's beginning to appreciate the wisdom Daphedee must
have. The idea of being a follower doesn't appeal to her,
but she's decided to ask Daphedee to take her as a student
or protege.
Imperial Focus
Added Sun Feb 9 10:34:39 2020 at level 51:
Aging and illness has caused Xiqoanna to rethink what she can
actually accomplish with the years she's got left. She's
decided to focus on bringing down the Empire first, and going
for more if she gets that done.
She chose Empire because she thinks that they are the weakest
of her three groups of enemies: Spire, Empire, Village. The
Empire also has the most enemies she can rally to join her.
Additionally, Xiqoanna thinks she can cause problems in the
Spire with her war. Eithlann and Llyion have shared opposite
views with her on the idea and it may drive a wedge between
them. This would weaken her next target.
The plans starts with a few ideas:
1) Unite the Empire's enemies.
2) Keep the Codex.
3) Keep the Vanquisher near death.
4) Keep Imperial lands burning.
5) Get Imperials warranted by Tribunals.
6) Find a way to turn one Sect against the others.
Retirement Plan
Added Sat Mar 7 07:31:07 2020 at level 51:
Xiqoanna sat atop alone at the top of the tower. Looking
to the east, she could see faint clouds of smoke rising
from the Imperial lands. She had just taken the Codex.
She thought about what the Empire was compared to when she
started her war. She thought about the Tribunals and the
villagers. She thought about what she'd set out to do at
a young age and where it had taken her. She decided it was
time to move on from the goals of her youth.
She had spent her life fighting what she thought were threats
to freedom and she thinks she did a pretty good job. Old age
was making her body weak and frail. She wasn't as suited for
war as she used to be. Instead of fighting for freedom, she
decided to just enjoy her freedom in the years she has left.
There was still much in the world she wanted to see and hadn't.
Around that time, she spied her friend Dhrak running through
the weald. Since they often go on exciting adventures, she
asked if he was up for another. He had a look of satisfaction
on his face when he said he couldn't go and pointed to the
small goblin following behind him. The Warlord of the Grinning
Skulls was teaching the goblin about war, their culture's
version of mentoring. There was another idea. If an orc could
teach a young goblin the importance of whatever orcs find
important, then she could help young mages.
So Xiqoanna decided to give up her war. Not only was she
getting to old, it was starting to feel too routine as well. Her
dream was never just about fighting, but about making the world
better with magic. She was going to spend her last decade or
two of life enjoying freedom, exploring new places, learning new
magic, and proliferating magic throughout the world.
