Description

A tall, malformed creature stands before you at a height of near seven feet. He is missing his left ear, and sports a circular cave-in around the place where his ear would be. Sores cover the heavily infected wound, and puss runs into his bloodshot green eyes, causing this beast to blink constantly. His clothes are ragged and frayed, revealing well muscled - and scarred - appendages. His tanned skin is marred with dried blood and grotesque scars. Visible through his tattered vest is a crisscross smattering of crusted lash wounds, many of them still healing. Amidst the lash marks are a series of poorly made tattoos that vaguely resemble the visages of orcs.

Role

A New Path

Added Fri Oct 13 01:03:49 2006 at level 21:
Rain came pouring down mercilessly upon the band of orcs as they trudged
through the slippery mountain pass. Rivulets of mud began to flow underfoot,
making the footing even more treacherous for this band of exhausted scouts.
Fresh from a victorious, yet disastrous battle, these few orcs were all that
remained of the raiding party that had struck at a well armed caravan. The
spoils were great however for those who had not been struck down. For all
of them had underestimated this caravan, thinking it to be easy spoils.

Now, the remnants of them had learned a hard lesson, and at the same time
had enjoyed in the plunder of the caravan. The vicious mage that had led
the caravan had long since been carved into pieces and eaten, and his goods
split between the remaining orcs, the stronger and less injured bullying the
rest that they might get the most choice pieces. Yazhmog, one of the weaker
orcs, had gotten nothing to keep for himself. Jealousy and rage boiled within
him, but he felt powerless to do anything about it against these bigger and
stronger orcs.

As the group neared the gates of the Grinning Skull Village, Yazhmog decided
his course of action. Rather than return victorious yet shamed and empty-handed,
Yazhmog decided it was the time to leave on his own, to strengthen himself and
to attain true glory. No longer would he be pushed around, he would one day
prove his worth to the other orcs, and they would be sorry that they had
underestimated him.

A lone figure slipped back into the rocks and brambles along the muddy path in the
driving and chilling rain, leaving the rest of the small party to enter their Village.

Demeanor

Added Tue Oct 17 18:54:25 2006 at level 23:
While Yazhmog has rarely been to the Grinning Skull Village of late, he still
sees himself as a Grinning Skull. He has come out into the world to make a
name for himself, as well as to prove himself to the elders of the village,
which he didn't believe he was able to do as a smaller orc in the village.

Yazhmog is a talkative, almost friendly sort, who is very open with his desires and
his likes. He always enjoys talk about eating things, especially elves, and will
rarely turn down an opportunity to talk about the prospect of crushing, slashing,
or dismembering anything. In fact, it's rare to see Yazhmog in a truly bad mood, as
the thoughts of slaughter and mayhem are never far from his mind. In fact, these
daydreams often cause Yazhmog to lose focus on his current itinerary, and at times
simply wander off. This lack of focus often drew the ire of the larger orcs, but
they never seemed to be able to pound the wanderlust out of Yazhmog. At times,
Yazhmog is even known to wander halfway across the continent while he's supposed
to be following closely to his groupmates.

On Elfies and Eats

Added Fri Nov 17 19:06:23 2006 at level 40:
Smashing elfs and eating elfs gets Yaz in the best of health,
It can be them pulpy eyes, or mebbe hairy elven pie.
If Yaz wants to smash some more, he makes him some elfie gore,
Drink it down from elfie skin, makes Yaz tough and sure to win.

Eye of tiger, leg of newt, or just good old elfie foot,
Why any orc need fancy brew, when he can just make elfie stew?
Some will say that Yaz a bum, that he can be pretty dumb,
But when Yaz need the smarts to train, he just eats him an elfie brain.

Some orc say Yaz do crazy voodoo, but that not way of mundunugu.
He just know that to get healthy, he gots to eat another elfie.
He also think it pretty grand, how mad he gets when he eats hands
In his mouth when them bones go crack, Yaz need to find some elf to smack.

And when they see Yaz cook em guts, they do think he is pretty nuts,
But if them look closer them will find, brew of guts helps protect the mind.
Yaz knows for sure there nothing wrong drinking pulp of arm for getting strong.
A scrap of flesh scraped off the feet will make this orcie very fleet.

Elfie elfie everywhere! And really Yaz do think
Elfie elfie everywhere! There lots of blood to drink!

Tendencies

Added Fri Nov 24 11:01:27 2006 at level 40:
It can be said that Yazhmog is a highly externally motivated fellow. Without
the need for vigilance or the scent of the hunt to follow, or even an angry
foe to banter with, often Yazhmog tends to become a little bit lazy. For the
most part, he's not a go getter, with that sole exception of the hunt. Always
one to enjoy limb snacks, Yazhmog is quick to go on the hunt, enjoying the
entire ritual, from the search, to the chase, to the ultimate kill. Most
importantly, he savors the celebratory feast upon the victim's remains.

One of his labors of love with a freshly made corpse is the construction of a
war banner, which Yazhmog calls a refeaster, due to its effectiveness in getting
him riled up enough from the scent of the blood on the banner as to make future
feasts from the kin of the victim. Yazhmog thinks himself very clever for this.
It can also be said that Yazhmog enjoys displaying his strength to opponents and
onlookers likewise. He enjoys when his hunts and kills are witnessed, and will
attempt to put on a show. It would seem that his motivations for this are less
boastful, and more exhibitionist. He does not oft brag about his power, nor is
he a prideful one, but the excitement of being witnessed in his full fury only
heightens the state of ecstasy Yazhmog experiences in full battle lust.

One easy way to get into Yazhmog's trust is to compliment him. He is flattered
easily, and takes those that treat him well into confidence rather quickly. In
fact, when approached about an opportunity to join a mercenary band, it took only
a few compliments and promises of more riches and corpses to fully gain Yazhmog's
approval. While not much has yet come of the band, Yazhmog sees it as a good way
to better attain his well deserved meals. He is not the best of spies, but with
a good set of eyes and ears, his network for locating his quarry has increased
exponentially.

Not everything that Yazhmog thinks or does makes a lot of sense. He is, afterall,
an orc. This can be seen in his intense distrust of Tribunals. As his experience
with tribunals involves sneaky dealing and entrapment, he doesn't feel they even
do a good job of protecting the cities they claim, but rather enjoy entrapping
others into committing crimes (It is doubtful that Yazhmog could actually pronounce,
let alone understand many of those words). Still, his hostility towards tribunals
includes his thought of them as cowards for hiding behind their walls and hordes of
guards and other protectors. It has not occured to Yazhmog that there are some
striking similarities between the fortified towns and his very own village, in
which he oft takes refuge, hiding amidst the rubble. The same sort of hypocrisy
can be found in his hatred for imperials, which he calls slavers. Yazhmog does
enjoy his freedom, and hates the imperials for trying to take away the freedom of
others, but at the same time, he has no qualms with forcefully enlisting the aid of
other lesser creatures, enslaving them. He has no notion of this as ironic in any
way.
