Description

The lingering scent of blood and fresh rain catch your attention long, before you note the creature gathered before you. His Drowish blood is given away by the prominence of his ears and obsidian color of his skin. Hair of copper is drawn into locs and skillfully braided into two elongated horns: framing an angular face. His ears are pierced from tip to lobe and adorned with gold and bone-inlaid jewelry, peeking out to greet you long before he chooses to. An eye of embers crackle with the fires of eternity and the other swirls with water like a drowning riptide; following you with a pensive and thoughtful regard. None of his features match, but a strange beauty emerges from the entropy of this creature, it is a feral beauty untamable and quite mad in nature. Yroaveth is tall by Drowish standards, standing at roughly six feet and hiding no bit of his build. Long elegant fingers draw your attention, the chipped granite fingernails manicured in blood. Hugging his lithe form are gowns of differing patterned silk, layered in a multitude of colors- that coordinate to evoke nausea. His waist is cinched by a belt of oiled leather, carrying a sheathed sword and pouch of bones. Bloody and glowing crimson runes trace his body, flickering chaotically as the patterns never seem to repeat. Tiny black ballet flats, covered in bells that no longer jingle are wrapped around his feet guiding his movement. His mannerisms are mercurial at best- as if hes in a constant war of the minds; bleeding into both his appearance and alluring demeanor. Sharp lacquered teeth peek out from between his lips giving way to a mouth that is grotesquely large in nature. Upon further notice you note that-

Role

Tricking the Trickster!

Added Mon Oct 3 16:26:14 2022 at level 5:
It was perplexing how one could go from a state of suspended stasis to
simplywaking up. Yroaveth knew not what to make of it all nor did he
care to. All he knew was that he was finally free, from his dusty tome-like
prison and no mortal or immortal alike could get him to go back. He would do
all in his power to make it so. In this newfound and strange time he realized
the existence of civilization and its inhabitants were bleak and misguided.

Where was the magic?

The Chaos?

The thrill and excitement of a well-planned game or deceptive feat?

Had they all forgotten in his absence that chaos was pleasure and pleasure
was the only emotion worth living for?

It was time to raze this newfound civilization and start over. Return things
to as they were in the beginning Ages. He would remind them, he would remind
them all, just why the trickster always has the last laugh. But first things
first, acclimation was required; he needed to regather himself and commune
with his Lord. The runes etched into his skin glowed faintly letting him know
that the presence of his lord was muted, however his essence was still with
him. Yroaveth recognized what this opportunity was. A blessing- he was
granted another opportunity to sew discord onto the very fragile fabric of
time. Oh how his lord would be pleased when he hears the future tales to
come. He briefly recalled the last thing his lord had told him while he made
his way into the wilderness.

*Always keep your foes confused, if they never know who you are and what you
want- they can never anticipate what youll do next.*

Understanding an Enigma (An outside perspective of Yroaveth)

Added Mon Oct 3 16:31:07 2022 at level 5:
- Was freed from a tome-like prison and woke up to a strange place and time
period.

- Embodies the essence of the Lord of Nihilism, Lyristeon and is willing to
do anything to keep the magic of chaos alive.

- Is driven by the pleasure felt from great acts of mischief and discord; for
him there is no meaning to life beyond it.

- He wishes to raze civilization to the ground and bring it back to the Age
he once walked in. An age where Thera was able to thrive due to confusion and
predictability being a vibrant whirlwind of sorts.

- Although he would not admit it he fears dark cramped places; they remind
him of his prison- and he will do anything in his power not to go back.

- He firmly believes that so long as he draws breath and dances upon the
lands; so does the Trickster. He lives to become the living embodiment of the
Gaping Maw.

-Yroaveth believes in the art of manipulation and deception. He will utilize
anyone's emotions against them to build conflict and any other tool necessary
when it suits his games.

- He believed in duality as a personality traitsometimes he had to be the
friend and other times he had to be the bastard. Whatever is required to get
a rise out of someone- emotions are the favorable strings to make mortals
dance.

- Mother nature is a Trickster herself, utilizing natural disasters to keep
mortals on their toes. No matter how high you build your walls and how sturdy
your city appears- it can all come crumbling down with a well-timed typhoon,
eruption, or vortex of fire.

Yroaveth the Rhetor of Chaos

Added Sat Oct 8 15:50:31 2022 at level 37:
It was underneath the embrace of the Tree that Yroaveth plotted and schemed.
Timing was neigh to carry over more precise and flamboyant acts of chaos and
discord. There were many things from his history as The Advisor to one of the
Drowish Queens that he discarded, however utilizing Rhetoric as a powerful
tool was not one of them. So beneath the shade garnered by the Tree of
Outlanders (where he called Home) maybe for an eternity, maybe briefer than
even that; he wrote a missive to address the realms of his return. The return
of the Maw was upon us all, he could feel through the swelling of power
within him.

He could feel it within the newfound intensity of the winds.

He could hear it from laughs, in the open night air.

He could see it in the way discord played tricks in every corner of Thera.

So he decided to share this with Thera via acts that made his blood pump.
From spreading plagues and pestilence to showcasing the true destruction of
Ancients Ire. Along with strategic and deceptive maneuvers that were
always serving a means to an end. His power with the tongue and willingness
to throw caution to the wind; would bring back his name amongst the masses.
As both a bar tale and warning for the masses that Discord was ripe within
Thera oncemore; trust not the things that go bump in the night.

Spreading discord like a plague.

Added Sat Oct 8 15:52:13 2022 at level 37:
Things were different within this strange time period, but Yroaveth was
beginning to prepare for what was to come. Nature was foretelling of newfound
struggles and anomalies; acts of chaos normally happen in threes. They were
freed of their tomes but two more acts were to come. Yroaveth would continue
to weave deception upon the delicate threads of Thera and wait for the
whispers of his Lord. Time was but an illusion for someone who remained
imprisoned for as long as he. It was time to find others who were also
indulgent of their chaotic urges. He hoped to spread the teachings like a
plague upon Thera and let it cull through the unlucky. It was but one of the
many treats he had in store for friend and foe alike.

The Serpent vs. The Spider

Added Wed Oct 19 18:06:53 2022 at level 51:
Yroaveths time back in Thera had been humbling to him, to say the least,
shaping his outlook on what it meant to become an Avatar of Discord. He was
used to presenting chaos within a grandiose manner; making flamboyant
displays of treachery and discord in the name of his Lord. However- this
would not suffice. Therans over the time he had been locked away have grown
smarter and more sensitive to the type of trickery he embodied within his
glory days.

As days passed and he rose in name and stature he began to turn inward,
regarding not just the teachings of his Lord but also the influence of the
predators of the Tree. It started when he asked himself the question, if he
was any predator within Theras Ecosystem what would it be?

A shark? Hardly he called upon brutal magic from the Ancients but that was
only one facet of his being.

A spider? Any Drow would cling to the symbolism of the spider such as his
late house had done when he was advisor. However, it never fit Yroaveth. The
delicate and intricate nature of the Spider Goddess did not sing to his soul
due to the chaotic undertone he exuded. It was for this very reason, long
before his slumber in the tome that he assisted the rebel house of Serpents
in the destruction of his former Queen. The joy that filled him within that
moment had never been quite topped. Spiders could be far more deadly in
killing intent however a snake had speed, power, and size on their side.

THE SERPENT! It rang true to him, slithering through his thoughts in a way
similar to Lyristeon himself. He was more like the serpent then he had
realized, their traits a mirror to how he needed to strike at his prey.
Laying in wait for the most opportune moment to execute an act of discourse
and strike; injecting his venom into the very fabrics of Thera and watching
the chaos that ensued. The mere thought brought extreme delight to Yroaveth,
causing his face to contort into a wicked and inhuman smile. With the notion
realized, and a direction clear- he was prepared to shift his tactics to
mirror the serpent.

Injecting his prey with venom, unhinging his jaws, and swallowing
civilization whole. Oh, how glorious it would be to dance over the ashes of
the cityscape alongside his Lord the Trickster himself.
