Description

Before you stands Zadeel. He seems to be covered in a mix of dirt, mud and what looks to be dried up blood all over his chest. He has a smell about him that would make a skunk jealous, but seems unphased by it. He stands around six feet tall, and if you look beyond the dirt on his skin, you can see that he's quite tan for one with long, pointy ears. He looks very trim, and ready for battle as he has shaved his head of all it's hair and in it's place are scars covered in dirt and mud.

Growing up in the woods has an affect on a young elf, as you dont
understand why you have to sit in the woods while the Elves of Darslyon
get to sit in a city, and have a life that you believe you wanted. 
Watching them as they go about their daily lives was hard, but I came
to understand that it was for the best that we distanced ourselves
from the Elves many centuries before. Learning of their treachery and the 
punishment sent down from the gods for their meddling in magic. 
I was told at a very young age why we could not go back to the city of
Darsylon, and we must distance ourselves from them so that our curse can be removed. 

I was told by my father, who was told by him father that many centuries before
the Elves of Darsylon lied to the rest of us when questioned about
their involvement when the veil suddenly and all the magic in the lands
was erased for a brief moment, but in that brief moment it angered
the gods. It angered them so much that two showed themselves in mortal 
form. A form that looked similar to that of a High elf. The questions
came from the Gods about what happened, and in that brief moment 
when all magic was removed, it seemed to age the gods by many years. 
The gods were furious as they felt like a mortal in that moment, and will
never get back what they lost in that brief moment. They could not tell
who did what, but silence was heard by the High elves as they denied
all that happened, and said they didn't know. This angered one of the
gods as it slammed down it's spear on the ground with such force that it 
made the ground shake all the way back to Galadon. The god pointed
at the High elf he suspected was doing this and his skin started to glow. 
He was in a constant glow as his feet were lifted off the ground. He was
hovering in the air, and then, in a brief moment, he was gone. All the
Elves at that time went to their knees because of what they just witnessed. 
The god turned his body around to face the rest of us, and his eyes were
fixated upon us all. We could feel the heat radiating off of his glowing eyes.

I hear that the heat from his eyes aged all he was looking at by
ten years. Some of the elders in the village fell to the ground, dead. 
The heat from his eyes lessoned, and he rose his head to speak to the group. 

"Those who seek to defy the gods, and meddle in things they do not know
nor understand, will feel the power of what they seek. You have been
trying to figure out a way to bring powerful magic to your little city
for a long time now. It has been but a joke to us for you dont
understand what it truly is you seek. Well, this time you have went to far.
You have opened a portal to a plane you know nothing of, nor the creatures
that inhabit that world. Your portal has let through a couple of
beasts that will kill you on sight, and now they hide in your world. 
I will not remove them, for you need to pay the price for your meddling. 
That is not the only price you shall pay for aging me. You have sat here
in your little protected city, away from the world, naive to it. You
will now be burned by the touch of iron upon your soft, protected skin. 
This is for your treachery upon the gods. Do enjoy it, and learn your lesson."

That moment all skin upon those who looked upon the gods started to tingle
and was now burned by the touch of iron. The curse was placed.

Seperation

As the gods let us and return to wherever they came from, there
was much anger among the elves at that time. Angered were
the certain groups of elves who did not appreciate the fact that the gods
came down to punish all of us and not just those responsible. 
There was a huge uprising in Darsylon, and there might have been a civil
war had it not been for my great, great grand father who was leader of
our family. He decided that it was time to seperate ourselves from the rest
of the elves as their treachery in to the realm of magic has angered the
gods, and punished us all. We did what he thought our family should do, and just left. 
There was no argument, or discussion to leaving the city, but it was right. 
At that time Darsylon was seperated by four major families. 
These families ran the city, and were considered the elite of the elves. 
My family was part of the four, so it came as a huge shock that we decided
to move away from the elves, and live in the woods for centuries after that. 
For our leaving, the other families decided to talk to the shaman of Darsylon. 
The talk was to put a curse upon our family for leaving the city. 
We did not feel it at that moment, but years later we realized that
he put a curse upon us that will never be removed until we join
the city of Darsylon again, as one of it's most powerful families. 
It was not going to happen though. They were having nothing of an elf who would
defy the gods, and go against their wishes. The elves even had to have some kind
of laws they must abide by. This was a statement. We decided to live in the woods
around the city of Darsylon, and galadon. Our numbers grew very quickly. 
Being in the woods for that long, you learn to see things you wouldn't normally 
see. Our kind became known as the elves of the woods, or wood elves as my
father told me. This is what we have been known as for two centuries. 
Living on our own, and relying on no one but ourselves has made us stronger
than the elves of darsylon, and also more hearty. We have been away
from Darsylon for so long that our skin, and our natural resistances
have changed from those days. We have seen nature as our friend, and
will protect it whenever possible as we've grown up in it and know how
important it is. Living off the land makes one strong, and self reliant.

The elves and the Veil

From a younger age I listened to my father's preachings about the elves and why
they were to be ignored, because of what they did in the past, but what caught
reading my father's books that he's had since a very young age, and from
what I understand has been passed down for many generations through the centuries. 
He never let me read the books because he said I wasn't old enough, but I was curious
as to what was so secretative in those books not meant for my eyes. 
While he was out in the woods, I came in to his private shack where he had them.
I had taught myself how to read from a young age, but learning anything
was very easy for me. It just came natural. I sat on the ground
and started to read the first book. It was about the elves of darsylon. 
I had already heard about all of this, so I came to the next book. It was titled
The Veil. I opened the book up and it wasn't covered in dust as the others were. 
This book looked to have been written in recently, and kept up to date. 

I read through the book very quickly, and it seemed to have many different 
types of writing on it. Maybe from generations as the words seemed to have
changed with the passing years. But, what it said was two centuries ago, there 
was thought to have been a tie between the elves of Darsylon and how strong
magic was. At that time it was not know as the veil, but the other elves could
fell when one of their own fell in battle. It was a slight
ripple in their concentration, but the ripple was constant for a few hours. 
This was felt by one that was not a High elf, but one who lived with us
for most of his life in the woods. He felt an elf die and had that much
of a headache, so what was it like for a High Elf once one of their own died?
This was the question asked by many in the book. None of them knew the answer. 
The rest of the book went on with hypotheticals, but nothing concrete. 
I wanted to find out more about what this theory was, so I closed
the book and snuck back out of the cabin back towards the house.
