Description
An enormous Storm Giant stands before you. Standing over fourteen feet tall,
with muscles nearly as thick as he is tall, this Giant is a sight to behold.
Bulging muscles swell and ripple in an effort to break free of their
pale-blue skin prison. Looking up at his face you see it is almost as fierce
as his body in appearance. His eyes are a deep green, which give him an
intense gaze when contrasted with his pale-blue skin. Long, dark-green hair
has been pulled back into a tight pony tail, its matching colour only further
serving to bring out the intensity of his eyes. Looking down at his armour
and weapons, you see that they are well maintained. Whilst dented and
battered from heavy use, they're all clean of blood, and polished to a dull
shine. Obviously this Giant takes great pride in his appearance.
Role
The Warrior's Code

There is little to be said about the Giant Zar, his childhood holds no
disastrous event, nor was it dramatic even in the slightest. Zar had a truly
peaceful and happy upbringing. His two parents were caring and loving, and
Zar always had plenty of friends.
It was always thought that Zar would follow in his father's footsteps. His
father Zararin, was a local hero, and a respected member of the Paladin's
Guild. For several centuries he waged war against the plague of darkness,
bring wrath and justice in the Silver Phoenix's name. Eventually he retired
to settle down and raise a family, and now aids in the training of young
Paladins in Loch Terradian. Everyone expected Zar to be personally trained by
his father, and follow in his father's footsteps to greatness. This indeed
was Zararin's intention too, but Zar was always full of surprises.
The first surprise was Zar's size, Zararin had always been tall, but Zar was
giant among his own kind. Not just tall, but strong too, the sheer sight of
Zar was quite intimidating to many. Zar was also easily angered, impatient,
and often acted without thinking. As such he struggled with his father's
basic meditation and prayer exercises, when it came to weapons training
however Zar excelled. His sheer size, strength and determination proved him
to be the strongest of all Giants his age. It was not long before the warrior
Guildmaster approached Zar and his father, offering Zar a place within his
Guild.
Zar was thrilled, as his favorite exercise was weapons training, and he had
always favored the axe, although the Paladin's Guild did not teach its use.
His father had great respect for the warrior Guildmaster, and after much
thought allowed Zar to train as a warrior, with a couple of conditions. Zar
would always uphold the Paladin's Code regardless of his Guild, and he would
seek out the Lord Shokai's blessing. Zar agreed, and his training began.
The Fortress of Light

Since leaving Loch Terradian, Zar has taken up residence in Voralian City. At
first he was quite impressed with what he saw, a clean, safe city, with great
charity pits and no one homeless. It was what Zar found outside the city that
horrified him. Zar had heard stories of how far evil had spread, but had
never quite believed it. Now he saw it first hand. Everywhere he looked he
could see death, pain and crime. The once magnificent Galadon of his dreams,
that he'd yearned all his life to see, had turned out to be a seething pit of
crime and suffering. The Empire had spread everywhere, Zar could hardly walk
down the road without being confronted by Centurions.
Not all hope was lost however, Zar sought out the Fortress his father had
told him about. Despite the horror that it faced, it still shone brightly,
bringing hope to those who had none. Looking upon the determined faces that
manned the walls, Zar was filled with a feeling of admiration, he knew what
he wanted to do in life, he knew where he wanted to be. So without further
ado, Zar penned his application to the Fortress of the Light.
Another thing had been bothering Zar, he had been hearing many rumours that
his Lord Shokai was in a deep slumber. He would have to meditate on this for
a while, and find out for himself.
Bitter times.

Decades have past since Zar left Loch Terradian, and those years have been
harsh. The sights Zar has seen have been terrible, and the battles have been
long, fierce, and draining.
Zar has changed much from that happy, eager, quick to smile, boy that left
Loch Terradian, all that is left is a bitter, tired, young man. He still
strives to preserve the Light, but finds little joy in his life. Remembering
his fathers words at times such as these, Zar decides to turn towards the
Heavens. His Lord Phoenix may be within a deep slumber, but he has deep
respect for the Lady Baerinika.
So with a new goal in mind, Zar grimly sets out in search of her shrine.
