Description

A swirling mist of grayish-white is before you, his light skin having an eerie and chilling aura about it. Tall in stature, he stands roughly a head taller than the average man and his seemingly malnourished frame only gives him the appearance of being even taller. Ebony hair is atop his head, their strands somewhat messy. The majority of them are pulled behind his ears that slant out away from his head into points, and then tied loosely near the base of his neck. Bluish pupils sit within his eye sockets, and their eyelids are drawn to almost slits over them. His nose is narrow and rounded, sitting between two high cheekbones that add a certain depth to his darkened face. Flesh colored lips make out his mouth, their shape forming a natural frown and curling somewhat downward. A wide neck holds up his head, flowing into shoulders that angle downward into slender arms. Thin through the torso, his body slightly narrows into his waist and then even further into a set of rather thin legs. Looking somewhat unhealthy due to the thinness of his frame, he stands with a slight hunch to his body.

Role

Disdain

Zarye Kal'Shala, the son of desert nomads walked away from the nomadic life
shortly after hearing of a faction within the deserts that surrounded his
village. Intent on ways of power and magic, Zarye was a bit of a scrawny
whelp that did not carry much in the form of potential among his people. It
was these things about him that had turned him to the magic of darkness, to
seek greater power. Power greater than any of his village would ever know.
Shunned by most in his village, Zarye became hardened to most and began at an
early age to defile the acts the monks of the sand temple had placed forth
for them to follow. With such acts commited, Zarye was caught and
disciplined on many an occasion. Usually the red leather wrapped staffs
serving as a means to the discipline he recieved. One such incident carried
out by a rather vindictive fellow left Zarye permanatly injured, and to this
day Zarye carries the marks of this incident on the skin of his back. Having
caused certain nerve damage in his back, there are moments where Zarye
becomes wrought with pain, twitching and being overcome by its grips. Due to
such, Zarye set out to alter his form and conceal the weaknesses he was both
born with and receieved. As such, he made his practice with the guildhall of
shapeshifters in the local city of Hamsah. He figured that through the arts,
he could find some release from the pain and torment brought on by his
childhood. Concealed in his animal shells, he would see the pain brought to
him being dealt two fold to others. He would also seek to destroy the temple
and those that labored in it. As such, he has a certain disdain for most of
his blood (half-elves) and rarely, if ever trusts any of them. He figures
that when the time is right and he has made the proper adjustments in his
guild, he will seek those magi of the night to further the power he seeks.
He knows that through such power and magic he can truly leave behind the
weakness of his youth and rise to a position of great and unmatched power
among his kin.

The first work

Added Wed Jan 25 21:03:19 2006 at level 15:
Before you is a canvas, the paint still wet at the tips of the brush strokes.
color red is vibrant and its hue it quite bright, while all other colors
used in its creation have been subdued and grayed. The bottom left corner
bares the artists signature, Zarye. It is signed simple and legible, no
certain flare to its lines. The picture itself shows a scene, where the
lighting is dimmed and its backdrop is the sandstone walls of what appears to
be a temple of sorts. Two men in sand colored robes lies seemingly
motionless upon the stone floor, their bodies mingled amidst grains of
swirling sand. While neither face is recognizable, their hoods are drawn
tight and the bright hues of crimson are apparent in pools about them and
upon the robes they wear. While one's body seems rather tame in its death,
simply lying there motionless and bloodied, the other is in a much more
mangled state. His legs are discernably broken, and his hands twisted and
fingers broken. His body lies in a rather unusual manner, with an arched
back. There is a staff, wrapped in red leather near his body only half of it
being there in a broken state. The other half is found shoved into the mans
back, only half of its broken length visable. While blood is still pooled
about this body, and even represented brighter in crimson paint, there is
blood and viscera viasble on the walls near the corpse, as well as in a
scattered area near him. Lasly you notice a pale image, almost not
discernable against the background. He is cloaked in dark robes and staring
over the bodies. Yet his gaze seems more to meet that of the dismembered
man. He is thin and feeble, yet carries a certain look of satisfaction about
his face.

Second work

Added Sun Jan 29 21:49:31 2006 at level 43:
Dark clouds loom in the distance of this painting, the look of a coming storm
upon them. Their hues are a mixed swirl of purple and blacks, they are
painted even darker than the dark night they hang in, not a single star or
moon shining. The only light is the singular lightning bolt that has only
begun its decent from the darkened clouds. While not having the chance to
fully light the nights sky, its flash has allowed a slight bit of light on a
figure below in the desert night. He, like the night is draped in dark
robes, making it hard to distinguish where he begins and the night ends.
Seemingly intertwined, the night and his dark robes remain completely
darkened despite the lightning. The only thing that shines is the outline of
his half-elven face. His light skin seeming to almost glow against the bolt.
pupils are dialated and fixed upon a dark chasm in front of him. The
chasm seems to be source of the darkness that surrounds the man and has
drowned out everything else about it. Yet, as you look closer you see a
strangeness barely regonizable at first. Swirled into the darkness of the
man's robes seems to be a small, frail and weakened figure. Almost completly
concealed in the man's robe it is as if he has almost begun to fade and
become consumed in the being.
