Description

A lithe and dark figure is before you. Ebony skin gives way to slender limbs and fingers that flow like silk as he moves. His eyes are an angry shade of violet, glowing in darkness. His hair is silver and flows down his back, flying in the wind and combat alike. He carries with him armaments of a warrior, mostly knives strapped across his chest and waist. His face is narrow and his chin is pointed. His eyes are almond in shape and thin eyebrows hold in a perpetual scowl. His ears are pointed, studded with green gems and diamonds. He wears a hodgepodge assortment of armors that lend way to lightness and speed. His stance is typically battle ready, caution prevails.

Blood ran down his broken nose and over his tightly pursed lips. The coppery
tang reminded him once more than yes, he was mortal. He recognized that his
ankle was broken as he rolled large stones and rubble off of his lower body.
Dust and ash caked his angrily violet eyes as he took in his surroundings.
There were bodies everywhere.  This had been a complete defeat. It wasn't
that he cared about his comrades or had any compassion for the dead, this was
war. His issue was with the manner of which his life had been risked, for no
gain.


He was a shock troop. Going unquestionably into combat was his duty. Yet he
felt that this time it had gone too far. He was very prideful. He was
considered one of the top combatants of his unit. He trained day in and day
out for combat. He was at peace if he was fighting, his head was clear, he
was completely living in the moment. Time stood still except for his focus on
his opponent.


The smirk he received upon his return to base camp told him all he needed to
know. He was not meant to live. The sorceress that led them and took orders
from the House in Teth Azeleth must have known this. A crowd had gathered.
Here he was going to make his stand.


He angrily began to shout at the sorceress, who immediately froze him in
place. She told him he was an inconvenience. He challenged her to fair combat
in front of witnesses for leadership over the remaining troops. She laughed
in his face and told him he was a fool who would piss his pants at the
thought of actually fighting her. Then she used her magic to make him
defecate and urinate on himself. He was mortified and took a fatal blow to
his pride that day. He was laughed at by the crowd who knew what had
happened. Before he could react a portal opened behind him and the sorceress
kicked him in the chest. He fell backwards and landed on a spongy and cold
forest floor. The moon overhead burned his eyes and the stars were like sharp
pinpricks of light.


He was soiled, beaten, and cast out from the life he once knew. Little did he
know at the time that it was opportunity that had come knocking on his
doorstep. His survival instincts were keen, it was time to start over.

Battle

It took him quite a while to get adjusted to life on the surface. He knew to
stay out of the sunlight after a very humbling experience his first day
getting caught by it in the forest.


He learned the common tongue, and he enlisted as a mercenary in the Caravan
Guard of Hamsah Mu'tazz. During his adventures there he relished in the
opportunity to prove himself against his foes. Due to his past he took a
strong stance against magic. Magic, quite simply, is cheating. It is
dangerous. It is weakness.


He has vowed to do what he can to destroy magic and have his vengeance on the
mage that shamed him. He will have his Pride back.


He heard of the Village of Battle and the Legendary Warriors who grew there.
He made it his life's goal to join them and prosper.

Home Sweet Home

Your eyes are suddenly imparted with a vision of a quiet moment in the life
of Ziviriz.

A dark plume of smoke exits the thatched roof of a dreary moss-covered stone
hut through a rusted pipe. Directly outside of the hut is murky swamp. Under
a small outcropping beside the hut grow various species of fungus, some
bright and clearly poisonous, others that look edible. Through a stiff
rothe-hide tanned door you can see a dark-elf hunched over a work bench
grinding various herbs into a brewing mixture. A foul smell envelopes the hut
which clearly is coming from the developing unguent. Several rolled bandages
rest beside the mixture having already been treated. Unrolled bandages are on
the other side waiting for the mixture to be applied to form a poultice.


Around the smoky hut are various books on herbal medicine, passed down from
defender to defender for generations within the Village. You also note books
on tactics and combat, some written by Villagers, some with the mark of the
Imperial Codex. Clearly this dark-elf values education and knowledge.

Weapons of war sit well polished on a rack. Knives, daggers, shivs, fletches,
shortswords, whips, and flails mostly. Several worn and beaten leather
shields line the wall, hanging above the weapons rack.

Towards the back of the hut beside a small and plain bed you notice a shelf
which contains jars of writhing, wriggling leeches as well as a bucket that
gives off an odor of foulness that homes thousands of maggots.


Clearly the dark-elf has made himself at home.

Update

Added Wed Mar 4 15:28:52 2020 at level 51:
Much has happened.


Ziviriz has spoken to Panmorne and had an unexpected discussion. He was
hoping that his combat prowess and growth would be enough to impress the Lord
during their initial interaction, but the old man seemed more impressed by
philosophical whimsy. Undeterred, Ziviriz will make a name for himself as one
of Panmorne's chosen. He is currently tasked with describing who his allies
and enemies are, and what victory looks like. Ziviriz had given absolutely
zero thought to victory and fully expected to die gloriously in combat. After
much consideration he feels that he would stay on at the village as a medic.
His skills are not limited to combat.


He has also begun to hear whispers and rumors of a great god killing weapon.
He has inserted himself amongst those key to the process and has them
convinced he is important and knows that the weapon will need to be reforged.
He has stated he knows the place of the forging and has already gathered the
holy flame. He hears things and is included on many discussions, he simply
wishes to do what is best for the Village. If there is a Great Weapon it
should be wielded by him, or destroyed if it is tainted.


The Commander of the Village stated he wished his villagers to join together
to find holy artifacts of Village Lore, he sent a list. Ziviriz, being
proactive and highly educated having recently learned the maps of the Surface
World, was familiar with many of the locations. He was able to gather all
five holy items and give them to a very bandaged looking demi-god.

Update II

Added Thu Mar 5 17:57:23 2020 at level 51:
Ziviriz has become involved with the going-ons of his peers. He doesn't trust
Nossos to make the right decisions regarding the Village so he is attempting
to figure everything out and lead to a positive outcome that benefits both
himself and the Village. Here is the information he has deduced by pretending
to be an integral part in all the happenings:


Admund and Idmund are brothers, who were born and raised in the first age. 
They came through a portal like the one found in the Holy Grove that brought
them here.  Their mother is Lyrentia and he believes is an arch-mage from the
first age


Lorente's father is a vampire named Davius that used to be a vampire slayer. 
He used Imogrezio's mother as a mistress to write books about his deeds,
which apparently caused the vampires to seek him out and turn him.


Muzzabak is bound by a demon.  His circle worked in reverse and he is
tethered to an entity.  He occasionally vomits bees.


The Commander was created during the first age by the Arch-Mage Lyrentia. At
some point he was attacked by an illithid or some sort of sea monster. He
died or was put in some sort of magical stasis and was rescued by Dorlangan.


Lorente gathered 'hearts' for Argothus the Seer.


The Fortress has to gather 'Eyes'.


The Scions have to gather '?'. He is running around the lands frantically
looking for anything out of place that might be required for the Scions.

To maintain the process of being involved Ziviriz has falsified the
information that Davius has spoken to him and is attempting to get Ziviriz to
give him information. He has told Lorente he will work against the Vampire.
Idmund and Admund apparently fought Davius at some point and he has told them
that Lyrentia will have to make a critical decision regarding them at some
point in the near future.


So at this point Idmund, Admund, Lorente, and Nossos are all looking to him
for information and feeding him information as they get it.


He is wondering what this weapon is all about, and more importantly whether
or not it is magical. He does enjoy powerful weapons and of course he's
worthy to wield them.

Of Fake Fathers

Further infiltrating the ongoing drama playing out for the great weapon
Ziviriz has discovered the following:


Imogrezio and Cedrizal had a dark-elf war master as a father. The story goes
that he bedded a human and had the two. He got into a fight over a woman
later and died to an elf, they each stabbed each other in the heart.


So using this angle and the 'Tell me what you feel like is correct and I'll
tell you if you are right' method of persuasion, Ziviriz is going around
pretending to be the dark-elf father of these two.


His mate's name was Breynalia, the mother of Cedrizal and Imogrezio, was also
Lyrentia's bloodline.


Using this he also learned Lyrentia's husband's name was Brordit, also an
Archmage of the past. He has been convincing Lyrentia Brordit has a hand in
all that is happening as well, using this as a means of fishing information
from her.

Information Gained

And just like that suddenly everyone was wise to the antics of Ziviriz. 

It was as if by magic. No matter. Information enough was gained to have a large edge in
both assisting the Commander and working on obtaining this weapon.
