Description
A savage behemoth of a frost giant lumbers before you, easily towering
over fifteen feet in height. Across his massive neck and arms, a tapestry
of scars weave a story of battles fought, each mark etched deeply into
his flesh serving as a tribute to wars fought. His crudely shaven skull
reveals tattooed runes that seem to frost over as the wind hits them, a
reminder of his ancient lineage and his primal connection to the harsh
forces that forged him. An unkempt, white beard frames his square jaw and
lends contrast to his icy-blue eyes that project a frigid fury on those
that meet his eye-line. Weapon loosely in hand and a shield strapped to
his forearm with scorched leather lashings, it would appear his sustained
injuries wear on him. A patchwork of leathers and hides of assorted
mountain beasts drape over his massive frame, yet despite his suppleness
of his armor, his movements seem somewhat labored and burdened. A cord
with scalps in various states of decay hangs from his waist, a proud
display of his many tokens of savagery.
Role
A Fate Worse Than Death

A sorrowful howl echoed through the Frigid Wastelands, far to the
southern borders of Thar-Eris. It was a desolate path of frozen earth
that had endured more war and conflict than one could imagine. The very
soul of these parts was born and carved through strife and pain.
So it were, this very same strife and pain had birthed the inhabitants in
its own image and thus, the Frost Giants were born of brutality and war.
Zoraba was no exception to this rule: A fearsome warrior whom flourished
in the bloodshed and cruelties of war, such was engrained in his very
being from birth. A veteran of countless skirmishes had decorated him in
the hanging scalps of Imperial carnage, but today, he had suffered a fate
worse than death...
He had been crippled on the battlefield during a skirmish with the
Empire.
...And thus, the howl echoed through the Wastelands. A howl of mourning,
anguish and turmoil. But somewhere deep within the heart of this pitiful
roar was a promise...
A promise that neither the battlefield nor his enemies had seen the last
of Zoraba.
The Cold Shoulder

Crippled and ashamed, Zoraba was forced through the maw of the
Wastelands, battling both the natural perils of the ravenous lands and
the enfeebling wounds that tore him from his prime and defiled his pride.
He grunted with resignation and determination as he grappled with the
idea of being forced into embracing spirituality, something that he had
traditionally despised. Priding himself in his physical attributes and
combat prowess alone, he shuttered at the thought of relying on the
divine, but alas... with a shield bound to his arm with scorched leather
and the haft of his axe slipping from his wanting grasp, it was clear
that he would never retain his martial abilities through his physical
strength alone.
And so, he did what he must to return to the front lines... He turned to
the divine, choosing faith and war over his own pride.
The savage God Jormyr had claimed the caverns to the south, imbued with
strife and turmoil, the para-elements of his cavern bubbled, boiled and
steamed in their representation of eternal strife and served as a beacon
to those that represent the same. Yet, something was amiss when he
entered such place of reverence only to be greeted with a cold slab of
uniformity. No strife... No conflict.... No Jormyr.
Deserted by the father of his ancestors, Zoraba closed his eyes with the
sudden realization that he would be forced to seek his reparations beyond
the borders of his homeland where he was about to discover a whole new
realm of warfare and conflict as he became the first in many generations
to go beyond the mountains.
Beyond the Mountains

- Beyond the frigid mountains that he calls home, Zoraba would come to
find a much tamer land of paved roads, high walls, and luxuries. The
stretch of civilization and the Empire's hand was much more prominent
here. It was clear to Zoraba that he must remedy his situation soon
before it was too late and his frost giant kin are inevitably wiped out.
- Armed with little more than his faith in the sphere of war and his will
to return to battle, Zoraba longs for the day that he may receive a
blessing from its diety to set him right. When that day comes, he vows to
show aggression and brutality in the war against civilization than this
realm has ever seen. Until then, however, he must resort to guerilla
tactics to eliminate his foes.
- Having been crippled during a skirmish on the battlefield, he has been
forced to embrace his spirituality and the roots of what he knows,
seeking out the path of war in an effort to restore some of his combat
effectiveness by means of fortifying his faith.
- Realizing quickly that he would need allies in this war, he discovered
a subset of freedom fighting barbarians that call themselves 'Reavers',
who seem to think similarly to himself. The fist of Thar-Eris and sworn
aggressors in the war against civilization, it was a clear fit for him.
Pledging himself to the cause, he believes this will be a much needed
boon in his fight.
- Recently hearing rumors of where to find the last remaining God of War,
Lord Panmorne, Zoraba plans to seek him out in his bid to restore his
ability.
A Test of Faith

After years of prayer in his darkest days, Zoraba's faith in the God of
War was finally rewarded when Panmorne revealed himself to him at long
last.
Revealing his plight, Zoraba explained his injuries, begging for his
blessing so that he may return to his rightful place in the front lines
of war. Words were said, lessons were learned, head bludgeoning from the
old man's staff took place, and a blessing was received.
Focusing his faith into his physical strength and martial ability, Zoraba
reclaimed a portion of his diminished mobility and combat prowess.
Indebted to the God of War and eager to improve his ability, he was given
a task to scout both his allies and foes, analyzing their strengths and
weaknesses. Knowing much about war, but little about social interactions,
Zoraba takes the approach of earning respect through combat to reveal the
raw character of those he scouts.
Transformation

After suffering through his crippling injuries and falling away from the
warrior's guild, Zoraba has since regained much of his strength through
his faith in the God of War, Panmorne. Through extreme grit and tenacity,
he has managed to climb to the pinnacle of the shaman's guild, despite
his many enemies rallying to prevent it. In this, he has honed his faith
into a weapon sharper than any other.
With extreme appreciation and debt to Panmorne, he vows to wage an
aggressive war against his enemies, both as praise and a demonstration of
strength of his mighty diety.
Joining the Outlanders of Thar-Eris long before as a ragged cripple, he
now finds himself as one of its strongest Reavers. His unassuredness and
doubt in his ability to perform has fallen away and his voice has become
louder in the push for war and tactical direction. Not yet a commander by
any stretch, the guidance he has received from the God of War has pushed
him to think like one--constantly feeling out both his allies and foes
and gauging their strengths and weaknesses.
Despite his physical improvement and pointed faith, he has quite the war
ahead of him. As a Reaver that has taken the unpopular night shift, he
often finds himself alone against odds, fighting multiple war fronts
against foes with great numbers that are not afraid to use them. Still,
he looks to his faith, stubbornness of will, and the teachings of
Panmorne to guide him through... and somehow, victory seems just within
grasp.
