ROT 'WASTING DISEASE' (600)
Syntax: commune rot <victim> This supplication causes a decaying disease in the victim which slowly rots their flesh from within. If the rot sufficiently weakens the victim's constitution, the disease is instantly fatal. Unsuccessful rotting attempts will leave the victim with a wasting disease, which renders them more susceptible to further ravages of the body with poison, disease, hunger, and thirst. These effects are not cumulative, but rather different degrees of the same effect. A victim with one will resist further attempts to apply the other. Neither is effective on the undead, otherplanar creatures, or similar beings. Most shamans are unable to achieve the full rotting of legend, and instead can manage at best a truly powerful version of the wasting disease. Rumor has it that a shaman given to mastery of disease might still be able to achieve the horrid rotting of old, but so far these whispers are simply that.
